The Only Way To Heaven

Heavenly SunlightListen to the words of Jesus Christ our Lord….

“Do not be troubled; believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house there are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you. If I go to prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to myself, that were I am, you may be also. And you know the way where I am going.”

Thomas said to him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going, how do we know the way?”

Jesus said to him, “I am the way , and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through me.”

John 14: 1–6

I was awfully disappointed this week when an email came across my computer from a Brother in Christ. The email concerned a statement that was made from an Icon in today’s world. Someone who has such a following, that just the slightest play on words could lead so many down the broad path, away so far from the truth of God’s word.

Oprah had made the statement that she couldn’t possibly believe that Jesus was the only way to God, but that in fact there were many ways to get to Heaven.

If you believe in God, you must believe his word. The Apostle John through the Inspiration of God made it very clear in his Gospel that the only way to the Father is through Jesus Christ. Do you know him? Have you begun your walk with the Lord? I can tell you this, the reward will be Heavenly!

I want to be with God forever, don’t you want to join me?

The Fire of Your Heart

Want to know God’s will for your life? Then answer this question: What ignites your heart? Forgotten orphans? Untouched nations? The inner city? The outer limits?

Heed the fire within!

Do you have a passion to sing? Then Sing! Are you stirred to manage? Then manage! Do you ache for the ill? Then treat them! Do you hurt for the lost? Then teach them!

As a young boy I had the desire to drive a “Big” truck. I was going to get me one of those tractor-trailers, then along with my Mom I was going to go and pick up my Aunt Becky and hit the open roads. As I got older I realized that wasn’t the Fire within my heart. I am not so sure that I have found it. I know that I absolutely love Real Estate here in the North Georgia Mountains. I really enjoy meeting new people and helping them with one of if not the most important investment they could make….buying a home.

What is the fire that consumes you?

A Prayer For God To Guide

Lord, I give myself to you: my God. I trust you.

PrayerDo not let me be disgraced; Do not let my enemies laugh at me. No one who trusts you will be disgraced, but those who sin without excuse will be disgraced.

Lord, tell me your ways. Show me how to live. Guide me in your truth, and teach me, my God, my Savior.

I trust you all day long.

Lord, remember your mercy and love that you have shown since long ago. do not remember the sins and wrong things I did when I was young. But remember to love me always because you are good, Lord.

Immersed In Grace

He called you to share in His glory in Christ, a glory that will continue forever.

1 Peter 5:10

Pool of MercyTo believe we are totally and eternally debt free is seldom easy. Even if we’ve stood before the throne and heard it from the king himself, we still doubt. As a result, many are forgiven only a little, not because the grace of the king is limited, but because the faith of the sinner is small. God is willing to forgive all. He’s willing to wipe the slate completely clean. He guides us to a pool of mercy and invites us to bathe. Some plunge in, but others just touch the surface. They leave feeling unforgiven…

Where the grace of God is missed, bitterness is born. But where the grace of God is embraced, forgiveness flourishes…

The more we immerse ourselves in grace, the more likely we are to give grace.

Christ Is All That Matters

Christ is the visible image of the invisible God. He existed before God made anything at all and is supreme over all creation. Christ is the one through whom God created everything in heaven and earth. He made the things we can see, and the things we can’t see – kings, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities. Everything has been created through him and for him. He existed before everything else began, and he holds all creation together.

Colossians 1: 15–18

Field with Mountains in BackgroundThe Apostle Paul is explaining to us here Christ’s preeminence. He created you, he set you free, he forgave you, he is the image of God and the firstborn of all creation, he preceeded all things, designed all things, and He holds all things together.

Christ is all that matters.

Are you focused on Him daily? Are you beginning your day talking with God, casting your care and burdens upon him daily? God wants to be first in your life. He wants to be in all you say, do and think. He wants others to see Him living in you.

I know we are all busy in our day-to-day activities, with work and our families. I want to challenge you to do as I have had to do. I have set my alarm on my phone to ring at various times throughout my day to remind me to go to my God in prayer, helping me to stay focused on the things not of this world, but the world to come. I know that is cheating a little and I am not too proud that this is what I have to do. However it helps keep me focused on Christ, and how He would have me be in all I think, say and do.

Christ is all that matters, and he lives in all of us.

Colossians 3:11

Is Christ all that matters in your life?

Give Thanks To God

Autumn Bible

Thankfulness

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God.

Colossians 3:16

So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.

Colossians 2:6–7

Let them give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for men, for he satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things.

Psalm 107:8–9

You turned my wailing into dancing; you removed my sack cloth and clothed me with joy, that my heart may sing to you and not be silent. O Lord my God, I will give you thanks forever.

Psalm 30:11–12

Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; His love endures forever.

1 Chronicles 16;34

The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in Him, and I am helped. My heart leaps for joy and I will give thanks to him in song.

Psalm 28:7

Since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe.

Hebrews 12:28

Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

1 Thessalonians 5:18

To Him be the Glory, and the Power forever and ever…Amen.

Saying “Thank You”

Thank the Lord because He is good. His love continues forever.

Psalm 106:1

Sunbeam CreekWorship is when you’re aware that what you’ve been given is far greater than what you can give. Worship is the awareness that were it not for His touch, you’d still be hobbling and hurting, bitter and broken. Worship is the half-glazed expression on the parched face of a desert pilgrim as he discovers that the oasis is not a mirage.

Worship is the “thank you” that refuses to be silenced.

We have tried to make a science out of worship. We can’t do that. We can’t do that any more than when we can “sell love” or “negotiate peace.”

Worship is a voluntary act of gratitude offered by the saved to the Savior, by the healed to the Healer, and by the delivered to the Deliverer.

Finishing Strong

Think about Jesus’ example. He held on while wicked people were doing evil things to Him. So do not get tired and stop trying.

Hebrews 12:3

Heaven was not foreign to Jesus. He is the only person to live on earth after He had lived in heaven. As believers, you and I will live in heaven after time on earth, but Jesus did the opposite. He knew heaven before He came to earth. He knew what awaited Him upon His return. And knowing what awaited Him in heaven enabled Him to bear the shame on earth.

He “accepted the shame as if it were nothing because of the joy that God put before Him” (Hebrews 12:2) In His final moments, Jesus focused on the joy God put before Him. He focused on the prize of heaven. By focusing on the prize, He was able not only to finish the race but to finish it strong.

A Compassionate God

He comforts us every time we have trouble, so when others have trouble, we can comfort them.

2 Corinthians 1:4

My child’s feelings are hurt. I tell her she’s special.

My child is injured. I do whatever it takes to make her feel better.

My child is afraid. I won’t go to sleep until she is secure.

I’m not a hero…I’m a parent. When a child hurts, a parent does what comes naturally. He helps…

Why don’t I let my Father do for me what I am more than willing to do for my own children?

I’m learning….Being a father is teaching me that when I am criticized, injured, or afraid, there is a Father who is ready to comfort me. There is a Father who will hold me until I’m better, help me until I can live with the hurt, and who won’t go to sleep when I’m afraid of waking up and seeing in the dark.

Ever.
